UniSC men are coming off A win over the Red City Roar last weekend
The UniSC men are coming off a 97-65 win over the Red City Roar last weekend and will look to continue their winning ways.
After trailing by four at the half, the men switched into gear and found their magic in the third quarter which blew the game wide open by three quarter time.
Brandon Wood finished with 22 points, including 6 three pointers. Louis Ilton was phenomenal on both ends of the floor, finishing with a season high of 18 points on 7-9 shooting.
Recently signed SE Melbourne Phoenix player, Matt Kenyon was exceptional on the defensive end, forcing Nelson Larkins to shoot 3-17 from the field.
Verle Williams finished with 11 points, including, what will undoubtedly be one of the top plays that will take place this year, a soaring dunk.
The Men will need to bring that dominant defense with them on Saturday night as they face off against one of the top scoring teams in the league in Rockhampton.
Led by Nikau Mccullough’s 24.3 points per game, the Rockets are filled with firepower. Wesley Harris adds 21.3 points per game, Chier Maker 18.3 and Angus McWilliam rounds out the scoring with 13 points per game.
The key to the Rockets could be Jarvis Summers, who last year averaged almost 13 assists per game. Although off to a slower start this year (7 assists per game,) the men will need to keep him contained in order to keep him from igniting the spark for other Rockets to get going.
Come down to support the men as they take on the Rockets in a high octane matchup on Saturday night at 7:30 or on Kayo.
