UniSC Men Fall to Gold Coast
The UniSC Rip City men fell to a rolling Gold Coast Rollers team last saturday, 120-97.
Three players from the Rollers paced the game, with Todd Blanchfield pouring in 41 points and adding 15 rebounds on the night.
Jason Cadee was equally as impressive with 24 points and 14 assists, orchestrating and driving group.
Preston Le Gassick scored 26 points on the night as well, as his sharp shooting season continues.
The Rip men weren’t without their own start studded performances with Kouat Noi scoring a program record 45 points and 13 rebounds while Matt Kenyon produced the clubs first triple double of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Unfortunately those performances weren’t enough.
The Northside Wizards will come into Saturday night’s matchup with a 6-5 record. Wing and ex-NBAer, Andrew White III comes in averaging 23 points per game and scored the game winning shot the last time these two teams collided.
Cameron Healy comes in averaging 21 points per game, while ex Rip City player Kyle Zunic is averaging 17 points and 8 assists.
Lual Diing rounds out the scoring with 16 points per game.
The men will have to find a way to stop the bleeding on the defensive end if they want to pick up a win in this one, a statement not previously used with teams of the past under coach Nathan Arousi.

In an overtime thriller in their last matchup, the men came away with a win. Koen Sapwell is averaging 24 points per game, including a 40 point explosion this year.
AK Gak is producing 17 points and 9 rebounds while Fab Krslovic is averaging 14 points per game, himself.
The men will need to once again find some defensive fortitude and hold the Spartans on the second night of a back to back.
