UniSC Rip City men fall to a talented Logan Thunder

The UniSC Rip City men fell to a talented Logan Thunder on Saturday, 98-90.

Led by a near perfect shooting night for Boston Mazlin (9-10, 25 points) and Majok Deng’s 25 points, the Rip City men couldn’t get over the line.

Kouat Noi led the way with 22 points and 16 rebounds despite a tough shooting night.

Eric McAlister finished with 20 points and 6 made threes, while Matt Kenyon provided another all around effort of 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists while defending at an elite level.

The men will face off against an extremely talented Ipswich Force on Saturday that will feature seven players with NBL experience.

Kyrin Galloway is leading the Force in scoring at 25.5 points per game but closely followed by a trio of Boomer Nathan Sobey’s 20.8 points per game, Jaylin Galloway’s 19.8 points per game and Deng Deng’s 19.3 points per game.

There is a very clear and specific key here for the men to ensure they come away with a win in this one— defend.

Ipswich has excellent size and length that can be disruptive on the defensive end, so taking care of the ball and getting good looks will help slow down the Force attack and allow the Rip men to defend in the half court.

Look for the men to continue to work on finding their rhythm and building chemistry now that all the pieces are in place.

You can catch the men take on the Ipswich Force on Saturday evening in Ipswich at 7pm, or on the NBL1 livestream!
