F A Q ' s

What age group will my child play in?

Age Bracket Concerns
A few members have reached out to us to identify that they have some questions or concerns about the ages brackets affecting their children. Please note our age break down is in line with Basketball Qld and representative eligibility. The important thing to keep in mind when considering the age groups is that it’s still a two-year age bracket, so there will always be “top age” and “bottom age” kids within each age bracket.
These children will also be graded & put into teams and divisions within the competition according to their and their peer’s skill levels.

When do registrations close for Summer 23/24 Season?

Rip City can accept registrations freely until 18/10/2023 when they nominate the number of teams they are entering into the competition for the season. From there, if they have room within teams, they may still accept registrations at any point throughout the season to fill teams if they have space.

Is there an option for a payment plan?

Rip City is happy to advise that we are offering an instalment option, this time with 4 fortnightly instalments which sees full registration fees paid before the season commences. Please contact office@uscbasketball.com.au for more information.

What are the Basketball Queensland Membership fees for the different age groups?

Basketball Queensland is still on 2023 fees. $35.50 for U10 and $71.01 for 10 and older. This may increase when BQ releases their 2024 fees. If I register my child into the wrong club or wish to change clubs after I have completed registration (i.e. wish to de-register and join the right club) will I be charged transaction fees again? Yes

How do I enter a Team into a competition?

We are always looking for new teams at the start of a season, if registrations are not open yet we can let you know by putting your team on the waiting list.
When registrations open(roughly 6 weeks before the start of the season) teams will need to have their team contact register the team online by submitting the team nomination form. Once we accept your team entry we will contact you just after the closing date for new teams with your Grading Game time and date. This helps us see what level competition you are suited to, how organised the team is, and view the teams conduct and sportsmanship.
Shortly after the grading game we will contact you to offer you a position in a competition.
Unfortunately due to restricted court space and some spaces not becoming available we can not always offer a place in the association.

Do all players have to register every season?

Yes, all players, including the team organiser must register to every competition season they wish to participate in as a ‘Player’.
BasketballConnect will only require you to pay again if your registration finishes before the end of the season.

My question isn’t listed – who can I contact?

Please email your question to our Admin Team, and we will get back to you as soon as possible – office@uscbasketball.com.au
