President’s Forward

Hello Everyone at UniSC Rip City Basketball.

As an extremely proud association only in its infancy being established in 2008, we have grown quickly to now have over 1000 participants including players, coaches, and officials with numbers rising each day.

We are a NFP organization running primarily on volunteer involvement to help us deliver over 100 games each week. Our volunteer members are quite amazing and as an association we value this group of selfless individuals to the highest degree, many of which are the mum’s and dad’s of our athletes. We’ll always welcome more volunteers to any of our programs including sub-committee’s, coaching, team managing, senior game setup or fundraising, so that we can continue our pathway of growth and participation for everyone in our region……simply click the ‘Alive in 25’ rotating banner on the front page and click the ‘Get Involved’ box……. to become involved.

Our existing and future sponsors too are incredibly important to us and we couldn’t run an association without them. Thank you for your contributions to date, you are a highly important part of the fabric of Rip City and we look forward to what we can do together as we get bigger and stronger. Stay tuned for new packages and exciting executions on game days that we hope you’ll love to get involved with.

As we grow and our programs improve, our office staff numbers will also grow to provide you with the best possible experience we can deliver. Whether you’re looking to sponsor our NBL1 or QSL teams, any one of our junior programs, are hard-core on a pathway to become the next Lebron James or Lauren Jackson, or, are simply happy to come along on NBL1 or QSL game day and have beer or glass of wine, we’d love to see you and hear your feedback.

Whilst we work to establish ourselves as a real force in basketball in SE Queensland, there are some exciting initiatives we are planning. A Rip City Hall of Fame, and Life Member Honor Boards are in discussions, where we’ll recognise the hard work of the people who built the club from it’s barest foundations, and for those that have contributed significantly since then to help build us to where we are today, along with players, coaches, officials and sponsors who have made their marks in the game at Rip City.
