What we stand for

what we stand for

Resilience

We never give up, no matter what the situation. If its not working, we try something different. We push through difficult times on and off the court and stay strong. Bouncing back after defeat with a positive attitude and a plan, while driving forward even in the face of a seemingly stronger opponent. Always taking responsibility for all our actions.

what we stand for

Inclusion

Equal respect and understanding without bias or judgement for everyone at Rip City. A sense of belonging and connection to your team, club and association. Feeling comfortable and confident to be able to show up and perform at your best everyday. Take away the walls and build friendships. Include everyone in your team in team activities

what we stand for

Performance

Playing to the best of your ability. Taking everything you’ve learnt at training and doing it on the court. Trying your hardest even though you may be up against it. Leading by example when winning, and being beaten. Being humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

our mission

Our Mission is to develop skill and character beyond hoops, guiding our participants from beginner to national and international competitions via well defined pathways, all in a supportive, fun, and dynamic basketball environment for all age and ability levels.

The UniSC Rip City Basketball Association also provides basketball tuition for kids as young as 3 years old via our Little Rippers Program which is recognised as an introduction to the sport at a beginner level.

As we manage the huge growth in our sport due in part to population increases in our region, the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and unprecedented visual coverage of the game worldwide, UniSC Rip City is positioning itself as a great family club to become a member of, where you can enjoy a social game as a player, official or administrator, or realise your potential via a pathway to US College, NBL1, NBL and WNBL, Junior and Senior Australian Teams and possibly even the NBA and WNBA.

It’s our responsibility to provide the sport of basketball for everyone to experience and enjoy both on and off the court with respect, integrity and professionalism.

UniSC Rip City has seen some fantastic progression on many levels of the game including a state championship in Rep Ball and a recent Grand Final appearance for our Senior Men in the NBL1, and we have only just begun! We set high standards, love to win, have fun and at the same time we do it the right way with inclusion and fair play.
