PLAYER OF THE MONTH – Duante Murphy
Duante has been going from strength to strength this year playing a bigger role in the QSLYL program and gaining minute in the QSL program. Duante also represented Sunshine Coast in Townsville in May at the Queensland State School Basketball Competition, where he averaged 23.29 points per game to rank second amongst all players.
Little Rippers Term 3 Registrations Open
Little Rippers is a fun and exciting program that allows children to be introduced to the game of basketball. Basketball is a fantastic sport that can be played all year round, indoors or outdoors and you don’t even need a hoop!
COACH OF THE MONTH – Morgan Brown
The Rip City Coach of the Month is Morgan Brown. Morgan supported the under-16 Black team to a state championship Div 3 gold medal as an Assistant Coast. While also playing on the Rip City QSLYL and QSL team and UniSC’s UBL team, Morgan also coaches our Junior Program on Tuesday and Fridays
OFFICIAL OF THE MONTH – Ethan Weatherby-Blythe
The Rip City Official of the Month is Referee Ethan Weatherby-Blythe. Ethan was selected to referee a bronze medal game at the recent U16 state championships. Ethan continues to put a lot of time on court as referee across a number of competitions and is a mentor to the up-and-coming referees at Rip City.
VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH – Kathleen Hemmings
The Rip City Volunteer of the Month is Kathleen Hemmings. With kids that play and referee at the club, Kathleen is always making the most of her time at the club, contributing in many ways including team manager and is an absolute gun with many roles on club night.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH – Tristan Storey
The Rip City Player of the Month is Tristan Storey from the Under-16 Black team. Tristan was top scorer at the recent State Championships, where Rip City won the Division 3 gold medal. Tristan scored 18 points in the 71-62 win over Gold Coast in the gold medal game.
