UniSC Rip City women will look to bounce back after a tough loss to the Logan

The UniSC Rip City women will look to bounce back after a tough loss to the Logan women last Saturday, 91-57.

Powered by forward Mikaela Ruef’s dominating performance in which she recorded a triple double of 17 points, rebounds and 10 assists, the Logan women overpowered the Rip Women in this one.

Mikhaela Cann led all scorers with 24 points and dishing out 7 assists while Odette Isaac scored 16.

For the Rip women, on a night where the offense failed to fire, N’dea Flye led the Rip women with 18 points and Steph Bairstow contributed 14.

The Rip women shot just 27% from the field for the game while Logan shot a blistering 57% which ultimately led to the loss.

We all have tough nights, though, and we look forward to the women bouncing back this week against Ipswich.

The women come in at 2-5 on the season and are led by guard Alison Gorrell’s 19.7 points per game and Maria Blazejewski’s 19.6 points per game.

Meg Essex provides 16 points per night and Georgia Ralph rounds out the scoring with 11.5 points per game.

The Ipswich women are a well balanced group statistically but one thing is clear— their lack of depth.

The Rip women will need to be aggressive at both ends of the floor, putting pressure on the Force and wearing them down as the game progresses.

The Rip will need to attack the glass and win the 50/50 balls on Saturday night to come away with this one but most importantly, they will need to find their offensive rhythm and continue to play fast.

You can catch the Rip City women at 5pm down in Ipswich or on the NBL1 live stream this Saturday!
